What a private tour means for your trip
A quote says private tour, and you wonder what changes for prayer and meals.
A private tour is a tour with a vehicle and a guide for your own party only, with no strangers sharing the seats. The route and pace can follow your family instead of a fixed group timetable.
How will you meet it on the trip?
You will see it on a quote as “private car”, “private guide” or “private day tour”. For a Muslim traveller the useful part is control. You can ask for a surau stop before a long sight, and you can decide where lunch happens.
Control is not proof. A private guide can still take you to a restaurant whose halal claim is only declared, so each meal needs the same check as anywhere else. Our guide to the five halal claim states shows how to read each claim.
A tip before you pay
Send one message and keep the reply: “Please confirm in writing that the itinerary includes prayer stops for Zohor and Asar, and that we can choose the lunch venue.” The guide on what to confirm in writing lists the rest.

Common questions
Does a private tour mean the food is halal?
No. Private only describes who travels with you. Each meal still has its own claim state, from certified to unknown. What changes is that you can choose the restaurant yourself and skip a venue you cannot check, which a shared group schedule rarely allows.
Can a private tour stop for Zohor or Asar?
The schedule is built around your party, so a prayer stop is easier to add than on a shared coach. It still needs to be agreed. Ask the operator to write the prayer stops into the itinerary, and ask who finds the place to pray.
Is a private tour only for large budgets?
Not necessarily, because the cost is shared across the people in your party. Quotes differ by operator and season, so compare them line by line. The inclusion comparator lets you enter each quote and see what is covered.
