Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, who sees it and how to ask us to delete it.
MuslimTravelQuest collects very little. This policy explains what we collect, why, who may see it and how you can ask for access, correction or deletion. We follow the principles of Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010, which regulates how data users handle personal data in commercial transactions1.
What do we collect, and why?
The main thing we receive is the WhatsApp message you choose to send. It may include your name as shown on WhatsApp, your number and the trip details you share, such as destination, month, group and food standard.
We use it for one purpose: to answer your enquiry and help shape your trip. The pre-filled message behind our buttons may carry a short reference code, which tells us which page you used.
Do you collect health or religious details?
We do not ask for them. Telling us you want halal food or prayer stops is part of planning, and you choose how much to share. If you prefer, describe the need without saying more.
What does the website itself collect?
We may use an analytics service, such as Google Analytics, to see which pages are read and how the site is used. It records visits in aggregate and is not used to identify you. We do not show a consent banner for it, and we do not use it for advertising.
Our planning tools calculate in your browser, using only what you type. Nothing is sent to us unless you press the button that shares a result on WhatsApp.
Who sees my information?
Your WhatsApp messages are read by the MuslimTravelQuest team. If you ask for a quote, we pass your trip details to the licensed travel agency you choose, only with your agreement and after telling you which agency.
We do not sell your data. We share it beyond that only if the law requires it. WhatsApp is run by a separate company under its own terms.
How long do we keep it?
We keep an enquiry as long as we need it to answer you and follow up on the trip you asked about. When it is no longer needed, or when you ask, we delete it from our records.
What are my rights?
You may ask to see what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your agreement to share it with an agency, or ask us to delete it. Message us on WhatsApp with your request. We will confirm what we hold and act on it.
How do we protect it?
We limit access to the people who answer enquiries and keep your details off public pages. If you are not comfortable sharing something, leave it out; we can still help.
Where can I read more?
See the contact page, how we help, the terms of use and the disclaimer. If this policy changes, we update this page.
