Sample day templates with Zohor and Asar breaks
You want a ready-made day layout that already has the prayer stops in it.
A day with fixed prayer anchors is easier to follow than one where you hunt for a place to pray at the last minute. Below are three layouts you can lift and adapt: a city day, a nature day and a shopping day. Move the anchors to match that day’s windows in your prayer app, and swap in your own sights.
How do the three layouts compare?
| Block | City day | Nature day | Shopping day |
|---|---|---|---|
| Before leaving | Fajr at the hotel | Fajr at the hotel | Fajr at the hotel |
| Morning | Two sights close together | One long outdoor sight | Open the day with a light stroll |
| Midday anchor | Zohor at a mosque or prayer room | Zohor at the site or a nearby stop | Zohor in the mall or at the hotel |
| Afternoon | Asar, then a slower sight | Asar, then a short walk or rest | Asar, then main shopping block |
| Evening | Maghrib near dinner, Isha at the hotel | Maghrib at the base, early night | Maghrib, dinner, Isha at the hotel |
| Where it is tight | Between sights if the mosque is far | Facilities at the site | Prayer space inside shopping areas |
What does the city day look like?
The city layout puts the mosque or prayer room in the middle of a cluster of sights.
- Morning: two sights in the same neighbourhood, finishing near the midday anchor.
- Midday: Zohor at a confirmed place, then lunch.
- Afternoon: Asar early, so the last sight is not rushed by the sunset.
- Evening: Maghrib, dinner, and a walk, with Isha at the hotel.
Our prayer-stop itinerary checklist lets you tick off each anchor for the neighbourhood.
What does the nature day look like?
Parks, coasts and mountain sights spread out, and prayer places are fewer. Choose one large outdoor sight for the morning and treat the rest as flexible.
- Morning: the main outdoor sight, with a bag packed for wudu and prayer.
- Midday: Zohor at the nearest confirmed place, or back at the base.
- Afternoon: Asar, then a short walk or a rest.
- Evening: Maghrib at the base, an early dinner, an early night.
On an island or in the countryside, confirm the facilities before you go. The Jeju Island guide shows how to think about a nature-heavy destination.
What does the shopping day look like?
Malls tend to be large, with facilities that are hard to find. Fix the prayer place first, then arrange the shops around it.
- Morning: a light start, with breakfast near the hotel.
- Midday: Zohor, then lunch.
- Afternoon: Asar, then your main shopping block.
- Evening: Maghrib, dinner and Isha at the hotel.
If the mall has no prayer space you have confirmed, shop in the morning, return for Zohor and Asar, and go back out in the evening.
How do I choose between them?
Choose the layout that matches your group’s energy and your hotel’s position. A multigenerational group can do well with the city layout when the hotel is central, and the nature layout when everyone wants space.
- Older parents: fewer stops and more rest. See the first overseas holiday guide for pacing ideas.
- Children: keep the nature day for when they are fresh.
- Event days: use the theme park and festival day prayer plan.
Your next step
Pick one layout and write your own sights into it. Then check the real prayer windows for that day, shift the anchors, and look through prayer and daily pacing for the cases that need a different shape.

Common questions
Can I use these templates in any country?
Yes, as a shape. Replace the example sights with your own and move the anchors to match that day's windows in your prayer app. The layouts show where prayer fits, not what to see. Always confirm the actual prayer space for the places you choose.
Which layout is easiest for a family with children?
The nature day has the most space and the fewest closing times, but it depends on weather and on facilities at the site. The city day is easier if the hotel is central. Choose by how near the hotel and the prayer places are, and keep one light afternoon.
What if the shopping day has no prayer room?
Treat the nearest confirmed prayer place as the anchor and fit the shops around it. Look for a mosque, a prayer room in a larger complex or your hotel. If none is close, split the day: shop in the morning and go back to the hotel for Zohor and Asar.
How do I adapt a template for older parents?
Cut the number of stops, not the rest. Keep the same anchors, remove one sight from each block, and add a seat and a toilet stop before each prayer. Our slow-pace guide for older parents goes further on pacing.
