How MuslimTravelQuest earns money

You are about to message a stranger about your family trip, and you want to know their motive.

MuslimTravelQuest is an independent planning resource. We are paid only when you choose to ask for an agency introduction and that leads to a booking with a licensed Malaysian agency, and by clearly marked affiliate links where they appear. Nobody pays to be described as halal, and no payment changes what we write about a claim.

What are we, and what do we leave to others?

We are a planning team. We help you choose a destination that fits your faith needs, read what a halal claim means, plan prayer into each day and compare packages.

Tour operators run trips and halal bodies certify food. We do neither, and prices and bookings sit with the agency you choose. That is why this page exists: you should know the one place where money enters.

How are we paid?

  • Agency introductions. If you ask for a quote, we can introduce you to a licensed Malaysian travel agency. If you go on to book with that agency, the agency may pay us for the introduction.
  • Affiliate links. Some pages may link to a booking or travel product. Where a link earns us income, it is marked as such.

The planning conversation itself is free to you. The agency fee is not added to your price by us.

What do we decline to promote?

  • Any named restaurant, hotel or tour described as halal or certified, unless the reader can see a certificate and check it themselves. We explain how to check instead.
  • Any seller we cannot confirm is licensed. Our guide on how to check a Malaysian travel agency licence is the test we ourselves apply.
  • Any package that will not put halal meals, prayer stops and cancellation terms in writing.
  • Any claim that a trip will certainly suit your standard. You decide your standard, with your ustaz or state mufti office if you want a ruling.

How does an agency introduction work?

  1. You send us your brief on WhatsApp: who is travelling, where, when, and how strict your halal and prayer needs are.
  2. We help you shape it into a clear request, with the questions to ask.
  3. If you want a quote, we introduce you to a licensed agency that matches your brief.
  4. You talk to the agency directly. You compare its quote, in writing, with any other quote you hold.
  5. You decide. If you choose another seller, or decide not to travel, that is a perfectly good outcome.

Our group organiser’s checklist shows what to bring to that agency conversation.

What stays your decision?

Everything that matters. Which agency, which destination, how strict the meal rule is, whether to book direct, and whether to travel at all. We give you the questions and the checks. We do not hold the booking, so we do not hold the decision.

How can you keep us honest?

Check what we say against the source. Our factual statements are tied to named official sources, and we send you to those sources for the final check. When you compare two quotes, use the Muslim-tour inclusion comparator and how to compare two Muslim packages so that your judgement does not rest on ours.

Your next step

If you are comfortable, send us one question about your trip. Judge the answer on whether it helps, whether it names its sources, and whether it leaves the decision with you. Which arrangements to confirm in writing is a good place to start reading while you decide.

If you would like to see how we think before sharing your plans, send us a single question about your trip and judge our answer on its own merit.

Common questions

Do you charge me for planning help on WhatsApp?

The planning conversation is free to you. We help you shape the trip: destination fit, halal and prayer needs, and what to ask. If you then want a quote, we can introduce you to a licensed Malaysian agency. Any fee arrangement is with the agency, not charged to you by us.

Does being paid change which agencies you introduce?

We introduce agencies that hold a valid licence and are willing to put your halal and prayer arrangements in writing. A payment arrangement is never a reason to leave out a check. If an agency fails the licence or written-confirmation test, it is not introduced.

Do you take my booking or my deposit?

No. The booking, the contract and the payment are between you and the agency. Deposits and prices belong to the agency, never to us. That is why you should still check the agency's licence and terms yourself, using our guides.

Will you ever call a restaurant or hotel halal because it paid you?

No. No named business is called halal or certified on this site. Halal claims are explained by state, certified, declared, Muslim-owned, Muslim-friendly, pork-free or unknown, and the reader decides by their own standard. No payment changes that wording.

How can I tell if a link on your site is paid?

Where a link earns us income, it is marked. If you are unsure, ask us on WhatsApp and we will tell you plainly. You can also search for the same service independently without using our link.

If you would like to see how we think before sharing your plans, send us a single question about your trip and judge our answer on its own merit.
